A new way to play fifth-edition tabletop RPGs

Heroes' Almanac

One organized play environment that connects the Game Master and the players: the same campaign, the same characters, the same moment, on every screen at the table.

The table today

A game spread across a dozen places

Character sheets on paper or a phone. Notes in one app, initiative in another. Handouts passed around as photos, rules in a browser tab. The story lives in the Game Master's head, and every question stops the game.

Nothing is wrong with any single piece. What is missing is the table itself: one place where the campaign, the characters and the moment of play are the same for everyone.

The core idea

Everyone at the table sees the same game

The Game Master runs the campaign. The players hold their characters. Heroes' Almanac is the table between them: one shared state of the game, on every screen, at once.

One state, not many copies

When the Game Master changes something for the party, it changes on every player's sheet at the same moment. No reading numbers aloud, no second bookkeeping.

Over the table's own network

The Game Master hosts the session and the players connect over the local network. No account is needed to sit down and play together.

The game is resolved in one place

Damage, turn order, items and rewards are resolved on the Game Master's side and delivered to the players. The table always agrees on what just happened.

For the Game Master

Run the game, not the paperwork

The Game Master's side of Heroes' Almanac is a control room for the campaign: the party in view, the encounter in hand, the story in your voice.

  • Battle Manager

Initiative and turn order, creatures from the bestiary, damage and conditions applied straight to the players' sheets. The encounter has one authoritative timeline.

  • Session control

See every player's sheet, lock it when the story demands, request a roll or initiative, and deliver items, gold and experience to the party.

  • Handouts and props

Hand a letter, a map or a portrait to the party at the right moment; replace it or take it back when the scene moves on.

  • The Forge and the soundboard

Author items and statblocks for your own campaign, and set the mood at the table with campaign sounds and tension modes that reach every player's screen.

  • A sheet worth looking at

Your character as an illuminated page, in the Arcane Grimoire or the Runic Codex style, with your own portrait framed the way you want it.

  • Everything in one book

Inventory, spells, features, journal and the history of every level. Nothing to copy between apps, nothing to lose between sessions.

  • Act in the moment

Roll, choose a target, declare an attack. The outcome comes back from the Game Master's table, and your sheet already reflects it.

  • The campaign reaches you

Handouts, rewards, conditions and the mood of the scene arrive on your screen as the Game Master gives them, without anyone reading them aloud twice.

For players

Your character, alive on the table

A player's Heroes' Almanac is the character itself: what they carry, what they can do this turn, and what the world has just done to them.

The ecosystem

Bigger than one application

Heroes' Almanac is the table. Around it, a small ecosystem is taking shape: an entry point, a way to create, a place to share, and the people who play. Here is what exists today and what is still ahead.

Play

Available

Heroes' Almanac itself: the Game Master's control room and the players' living character sheets, connected over the table's network.

Launcher

0.2.0

The entry point to the ecosystem. It finds and starts the game and keeps it up to date through verified updates. No account is needed to play.

Creator

Coming soon

A standalone tool for writing your own items, creatures, packs and themes, shareable with your table.

Marketplace

Coming soon

Packs, themes, dice and ambients from the Almanac, from creators and from the community. Not open yet; nothing can be bought or browsed today.

Community

In preparation

Official channels will be listed here as soon as they exist. Nothing here links anywhere it should not.

Creation

A world you can write into

The Almanac was never meant to be a closed book. It is built around packs: content the game installs into a campaign, written by whoever sits at the table.

Today, the Forge inside Heroes' Almanac lets a Game Master author items and statblocks for their own campaign. Creator will open that up to everyone: your own items, creatures, packs, sheet themes and ambients, shared with your table and, one day, offered through the Marketplace.

I

Write

Items, creatures, spells, whole regions of a world, in a form the game understands.

II

Bundle

Pack your content into an .almanac. Every player adds the packs they want, not only the Game Master: each of you can carry different ones, and the table shares whatever data the game needs.

III

Share

Hand it to your table now; publish it through the Marketplace once it opens.

Enter the Almanac

Heroes' Almanac is free. Right now it is in a closed alpha: the installer and your invite code come straight from us. One installer sets up the Launcher and the game; the Launcher keeps both up to date. No subscription.

Closed alpha · by invitation

Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) · about 500 MB of free space · the Game Master and the players on the same local network.

The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may ask you to confirm it: choose “More info” → “Run anyway”.

Your campaigns and characters stay on your computer. The Launcher contacts this website only to check your invite code, updates and news.
